On a traditional ThinkPad business laptop, fan noise is usually capped at around 38 dB even under heavy load. Workstation users often prioritize raw performance over strict acoustic limits. Ultra Performance Mode responds to that need by:

• Relaxing acoustic and temperature constraints so the system can draw more power when needed.
• Tapping into the full potential of both GPU and CPU, supported by an improved thermal design.
• Being enabled by default in BIOS, while still giving users control to adjust settings based on their workload.

In practice, this mode lets engineers, creators, and other power users get more performance out of the same hardware, especially on the reengineered ThinkPad P15 and P17, which were redesigned from the ground up to support higher power and sustained workloads.
